1. What we collect

• Email address (when you create an account or join the notification list)
• Body measurements (when you enter them to generate a pattern; stored only if you save a profile)
• Purchase history (which patterns you have bought and when)
• Payment information (processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card number)
• Fit feedback (if you choose to submit it after sewing a pattern)
• Photos and captions (if you submit a make via the tester program or Share Your Make form)
• Affiliate data (referral code, click tracking via 30-day cookie, commission earnings)
• Marketing preferences (email opt-in status for welcome sequence and weekly digest)
• Basic usage data (which garments you view, browser type, general location)

2. What we do not collect

• We do not collect your name unless you provide it for a measurement profile
• We do not sell your data to third parties
• We do not show you ads
• We do not share your measurements with anyone outside People's Patterns

3. How we use your data

• To generate your patterns
• To store your measurement profiles so you don't have to re-enter them
• To send you purchase confirmations and download links
• To send fit feedback requests (2 weeks after purchase, one time)
• To notify you of new patterns (only if you opted in)
• To improve pattern geometry over time using aggregated, anonymized fit data

4. Body measurement data

Your body measurements are the most sensitive data we handle. Here is exactly what happens with them:

• Stored securely in your account database (Supabase) with row-level security - only you can access your own measurements
• Used to generate your pattern pieces - this happens on our servers, not in any third-party service
• Never sent to Stripe, PostHog, Resend, or any other third-party service
• Never sold, shared, or made available to any person or company outside People's Patterns
• Deletable at any time from your account settings - deletion is permanent and immediate

When you make a purchase, only your garment choice and payment amount are sent to Stripe. Your measurements stay in our database.

5. Fit feedback and aggregate data

If you submit fit feedback, your individual response may be used in anonymized, aggregated form to improve pattern geometry for other users with similar measurements. We will never publish or share individual fit data tied to your identity.

6. Photos and user-submitted content

If you upload photos via the tester program or Share Your Make form, images are stored in Supabase Storage. Photos are publicly visible once approved by an admin. You can request removal of your photos at any time by contacting us. We do not extract metadata (EXIF data) from uploaded photos.

7. Email communications

We send the following emails:

• Account confirmation (required)
• Purchase confirmation and download link (required, transactional)
• Fit feedback request, one time per purchase (you can opt out in account settings)
• Welcome sequence (5 emails over 2 weeks after signup, if you opted in)
• Weekly digest with new articles and pattern drops (if you opted in, unsubscribe any time)
• Abandoned pattern reminders (if you used a free credit but haven't purchased, one time)
• New pattern announcements (only if you opted in, unsubscribe any time)

We do not send unsolicited marketing email. All marketing emails require opt-in and include an unsubscribe link.

8. Third-party services

• Supabase: stores your account data and measurement profiles (supabase.com)
• Stripe: processes payments. We never see your card number. Your body measurements are never sent to Stripe - only your garment choice and order total. (stripe.com)
• PostHog: anonymous product analytics - tracks which pages you visit and which buttons you click. Does not receive your body measurements or personal information. (posthog.com)
• Resend: sends transactional emails such as purchase confirmations and fit feedback reminders. Receives your email address only. (resend.com)
• Vercel: hosts the application (vercel.com)

Each service has its own privacy policy. We have specifically designed our data flow so that your body measurements never leave our own database (Supabase). Payment processors, analytics tools, and email services receive only the minimum data needed to perform their function.

9. Data retention

• Account data: retained until you delete your account
• Measurement profiles: retained until you delete them
• Purchase history: retained permanently so you can always re-download
• Email list (notification only, no account): retained until you unsubscribe

10. Your rights

You can at any time:

• Download all your data (email us)
• Delete your measurement profiles (account settings)
• Delete your account entirely (account settings; this is permanent)
• Unsubscribe from non-transactional emails
• Request we delete all your data by emailing hello@peoplespatterns.com

11. California residents (CCPA)

We do not sell personal information. You have the right to know what data we collect, request deletion, and opt out of any sale (we don't sell data so this is a non-issue). Contact us to exercise these rights.

12. European users (GDPR)

Our legal basis for processing your data is contract performance (we need your measurements to generate your pattern) and legitimate interest (improving fit accuracy). You have the right to access, correct, and delete your data. Contact hello@peoplespatterns.com.
